WELCOME TO GORJUŠE
An idyllic alpine village situated in the Triglav national park, surrounded by meadows and forests. Gorjuše is the last hamlet before the Pokljuka plateau, entrance to the Kingdom of Zlatorog. It is the perfect starting point for skiers, hikers and mountaineers.
UNIQUELY FURNISHED APARTMENTS
Our comfortable and homely apartments give intimacy to couples and enough space for bigger groups. For socialising and interacting we invite our guests to the communal areas of the complex.
VASTNESS OF FORESTS
In the centuries-old forests of Pokljuka one can still lose ones way or find ones true self. Are you ready to discover yourself in the vastness of the Pokljuka forests?
TRADITION AND HOMELINESS
For centuries people of these parts have made and grown almost everything they have needed to live their difficult but sincere lives. Skilled workmen from the neighbourhood have helped furnish the homestead with items that tell wonderful stories.
WARMTH OF WOOD AND SPA
Our forefathers hadn’t even begun to dream of the pleasures of relaxation in the spa, but nonetheless Ročnjek offers Turkish bath, Finnish sauna, massages and an outdoor hot tub. Let your tensions disappear and warm your soul!
A GATHERING PLACE
The homely ambience of our tourist farm will allow you to relax and unwind. Our homestead is the perfect place for business seminars or conferences and team building events. It is also an unique setting for traditional open-air weddings or casual picnics.
Although the grocery store is just 10 km away and our apartments all have equipped kitchens, we are proud to be able to offer home cooked food. Fresh produce is also available to buy.
Within the property is opened well-known Restaurant Pr’ Ročnjek by Jaka Kusterle where you can order breakfast, lunch or dinner. You will enjoy delicious home-made food and local specialties produced in a traditional way. Everything is fresh and prepared on demand, but you do need to book in advance. Expect a delightful ambiance and tasty Slovenian dishes!
When on vacation we usually seek out original activities. At Ročnjek we’ll teach you how to create your own. You’ll have the opportunity to join locals at work in the field, forest or around the house. Meanwhile the fun and safety of your children will be taken care of by trained staff.
Our homestead is an excellent starting point for various levels of hiking. Also for longer multiple day hikes and mountain climbs. Sightseeing and easy walking can be found at Bohinj or Bled Lake. For explorers of old towns and villages several are nearby. Also not too far away is Kranjska Gora, Planica and the capital Ljubljana.
Philosophy of Ročnjek homestead
Our vision for guests staying at Ročnjek homestead is to spend their vacation enjoying quality time with their family, friends or co-workers, away from the daily worry and the stress of modern life. The activities we offer will help our guests to relax and reconnect with their inner self.
We would especially like to oblige young families and groups with activities through which their relationships can grow closer and stronger and also enjoy quality time spent together. Activities take place in the natural surroundings of our homestead and we aim to present and teach ways of country life. Our guests, particularly the children, may learn the advantages of living in the countryside.
Ročnjek is situated in Gorjuše, a beautiful village at the edge of Pokljuka plateau, where man and nature are still coexisting hand in hand.
The homestead retains typical Slovene architecture but provides guests with the commodities of modern life. There is also plenty of room to socially interact, i.e. big common kitchen with baker's oven for bread and pizza making, dining room, gym with an inside climbing wall, saunas and a massage suite.
We offer homemade food that is grown in a traditional way. Our guests can also buy local varieties of cheese, meat products, home baked breads or local ‘schnapps’ made from various fruit (pears, apples, sometimes mixed with different kinds of berries or herbs).
Our guests can take part in many farm activities, like sharpening the scythe, cutting grass and haymaking, making birch bundles, baking bread and more. We are happy to arrange workshops for guests, who would like to learn more about these skills.
